Jakarta Motorcycle Show 2012 Comes End of October



Jakarta, 4 September 2012 – The biggest two-wheel exhibition in Indonesia, Jakarta Motorcycle Show (JMCS) will be held again this year on October 31 – November 4, 2012 at Assembly Hall and Main Lobby of Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). The biennale exhibition is organized by the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (Asosiasi Industri Sepeda Motor Indonesia, AISI) in cooperation with Dyandra Promosindo.

JMCS 2012 will occupy a land of more than 8,000 sqm and will be presenting all brands of motorcycle under AISI such as Honda, TVS, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha. Other brands like DUCATI, KTM, Victory, Husqvarna and more than 30 companies from motorcycle supporting industry such as helmets and motorcycle accessories will also take part in JMCS 2012 exhibition that is scheduled to run for 5 days.

In this year’s JMCS, sole agents (APM) will be displaying their latest products and concept motorcycles. Furthermore, various attractive programs are scheduled to educate and also entertain visitors. Public will receive new knowledge through education program titled “Safety Riding Course”,  here visitors will have direct guidance from professional riders on how to practice safety driving. Other programs set for visitors’ during JMCS are Test Ride, Blood Donor, Helmets Promo, and Best Stand election.

The themed for this year’s JMCS is “Think Green, Act Safely”. The theme focus on enhancing riders’ awareness in following traffic regulations that will help increasing riders’ safety on the road, minimizing ecological burden and decreasing harm to environment. Abiyoso Wietono, Automotive Division Manager Dyandra Promosindo said, “Through “Think Green, Act Safely” theme, JMCS is inviting and encouraging JMCS visitors and motorcycle lovers all over Indonesia to show their concern and actively involved in the effort to obey traffic regulation and to create a more comfort environment.”

Based on AISI’s data, the total sales of motorcycles in Indonesia in 2011 were 8,012,540 units. AISI is targeting to see a 10-12% growth, or around 8,3 million units, by the end of 2012.

Indonesia is currently the biggest country in ASEAN in terms of motorcycles total sales and third in Asia after China and India. By 2013, AISI is targeting to see more than 10 million units in motorcycles sales in Indonesia.
